Great News!!!!  Congress has extended the availability of MSAs for another two years effective 12/31/00. Remember, the Federal Government will not "revoke" this account once you have it.

For a Medical Savings Account plan to work, you need the following:

1.  A Medical Savings Account. (MSA).
2.  MSA Qualified Health Insurance policy.

MSAs are tax exempt bank accounts that are owned by you  and managed by a financial institution. MSAs are worthless unless you have a QUALIFIED health plan. You cannot utilize the tax benefit of an MSA until the qualified health plan is in place. The qualified health insurance policy can be completely independent of the MSA.
